Special Note: Fast-Track Credits

You are exempt from Modules 1, 1a and 8 if you have a minimum of 6 months of English teaching experience and previous TEFL/TESOL related certification. If so, please make sure that you use the 'drop box' below to send us your current CV and any certificates relating to TEFL/TESOL that you have (certificates are not required if you obtained your BA degree through us). Once your documents have been submitted, your fast-track credits are automatically awarded to your student account.

Important Notes for Students

Even with the awarding of fast-track credits, it would take a highly experienced ESL teacher, a minimum of 6 - 12 months to complete the course (depending on how much time they dedicate to the work). Note: our grading teams will not accept full course submissions from students, in less than 6 months.

Students should note that our grading teams can instigate an inquiry, if they feel that the modules have been completed and returned too quickly, and they may even employ their software to check modules against both the web and internal documents, in order to see if assignments and modules have been simply copied from material found on the web, books or from other students. If they feel that plagiarism was used by a student to complete the work too quickly, it can create an issue with the grading team, so please take your time, make the work your own, and get it right!

Even though our degree courses can be done in a lesser period, they are still 3 year courses. Our fast-track credits take into account, the teaching experience you have acquired, and any previous certification. The vast majority of our students are already experienced ESL teachers, most of who have at least 2 years practical experience. We apply this experience to the term of the course, meaning that even if you finish the work and graduate in 12 months, as far as we are concerned, you started the course 3 years earlier. It should also be noted that unlike most universities, our course modules are not 'drip fed' to students over a 3 year period, rather that we make all modules available from the start, so that hard working students, who have time on their hands, can complete the course earlier.

It is our view that students should not be penalized by potential employers, because they finished the course early, especially when no consideration is given to the years of previous teaching experience they have already gained. While we never share student's course start dates with anyone (only graduation dates), we suggest that graduates simply backdate their graduation date by 3 years, to arrive at the start date of the course. For example, a student that graduates on the 4th August 2020, would mean that they started the course on the 4th August 2017.  This is the exact formula we use, in the extremely rare event that we ever get asked about the date a student started the course, by any employer.
